Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

How interesting! They all tuck their heads to the right. I wonder if there are any "left-headed" geese. Great shot!

A really lovely winter scene Bill, it looks so cold. It is 12 deg C here today, too warm for Christmas lol - we rarely get snow here as we are so far south, It would be wonderful to see a scene like this. Have a great Christmas and I look forward to all your posts in 2009 xx

Reminds me of the thousands of swans that feed along the Mississippi in Monticello near here ... dont know if you know about the Swan Lady, who feeds thousands of them throughout the winter months. BEAUTIFUL BIRDS! anyway, this scene reminds me of the place I go to see the swans; there are a lot of duck too (and one wood duck LOL) .. what i love about your photo here bill is the contrasts! The Geese are beautiful against all that snow and open water!

Excellent shot, awesome clarity! My camera sometimes it gives me good images, sometime don't... and I really don't understand why, 'cause when I point it, everything looks perfect, but as I said, the shot isn't a perfect one (I got an Evolt 500)

Great shot. I see enough there for the 6 Geese laying in the your 12 days of Christmas shots and a Christmas Goose or two for the feast. Looks like the Coyotes didn't get many of this group. Cheers, have a good one. Skipper

There are indeed many geese here - I see most of them are one legged... (grin) Great image Bill! :)

Wonderful capture!

That is allot of Geese! Great capture. I remember being told that a while back that if you see a flock circling near evening they are looking for water to settle down for the night at.
mermaid
amazing who peaceful they rest on their long jouney...a wonderful shot, Bill

Great capture. We have too many of them. They foul sidewalks for lack of enough wetlands, so the city bans feeding them. It's now illegal to drop your stale bread at the lakes. LOL.

What a wonderful sight to see and great that there is always fresh water for them. A beautiful capture.

Superlative capture of the Canadian geese taking a respite from their busy day of whatever geese do, be it flying long distances, looking for food, or defending their flock from inquisitive individuals. And this is what I mean by great clarity and resolution from a distance.

Outstanding shot of these geese. What a great find! I might have cropped the top to remove the houses, etc but it is outstanding in any event. Wow. Great shot.

Nice capture. When I see geese like that I always think about Christmas dinner. Goose used to be the traditional meal for Christas in Germany.
