It may be looking a lot like Christmas, but severe snowstorms that began Friday and have continued into Sunday, the first day of winter, have put many Canadians' travel plans on ice. In southern Ontario, a second winter blast over the past three days brought 30 centimetres of snow as another storm moved in Saturday night and continued into Sunday, forecasters said. By the morning, about 50 to 60 flights were either delayed or cancelled at Toronto's Pearson International Airport. Most were incoming flights held up by bad weather in the United States. On Saturday, airlines at Pearson and Trudeau spent the day clearing a backlog from more than 300 flights that were cancelled after a snowstorm swept through on Friday. New winter storm warnings have been issued for much of southern Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes, as well as southern British Columbia. In parts of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, there could be up to 30 centimetres of snow. A storm forecast to hit southwest B.C. could mean Vancouver getting hit with up to 20 centimetres by Sunday evening. Snowfall and blizzard warnings, along with wind warnings for Vancouver Island, have been issued for parts of the Fraser Valley. "Off to the west, we have a Pacific low-pressure system that's approaching the coast," said Environment Canada meteorologist Greg Pearce. "We have a variety of warnings as a result of this storm." .... thus is the nature! But why does nobody collect the fruits??? Again an interesting photo on the subject Snow!
jocko500
they do get the fruit off the tree and not off the ground . that all I know. Think it because they go bad fast if it hit the ground

Excellent image full of the impact of the weather. A tragedy that is also beautiful in its own way. The contrasts of snow and citrus are just amazing. You guys down there really need to quit dreaming of the white Christmas.

Encore une très jolie photo de neige!

Great effect the fog had on the lens.

Another great shot of this unusual scene of these citrus fruits covered by snow. The accidental effect does add to the image nicely.

That tree is really packed with fruit, hopefully they will manage to pick it all before it rots on the ground ! Neat series and wishing you and your family a merry Christmas ! ~Cheers~

it did turn out really well Jock. I have heard many times of Florida's orchards getting hit with snow, but the first in Bayou country

Interesting diaphanous effect apparent in this fine shot, Jock. And, where I am, at a little above sea level here is Southern California, there ain't no snow.

The lens fogging sure made this an awesome pic! It's just so unbelievable to see ornages in snow! A shame that so much goes to waste on the ground.

two years ago we got some snow the oranges in our back yard were frozen "nothing like instant orange juice huh lol But it went away in two hours ::This is a lovely capture but keep it! I do not like being cold and it's far from warm here :: but still only cold at night:hugs ))

More frozen OJ :)..Like this series Jock, and I notice that the snow is getting heavier with each capture.

I ran into the same problem just recently, lol. Took a whole lot of pictures not realizing my lens was fogged and moisture. But with the snow you have, it came out pretty good. Frozen orange juice ahead of you. Nice capture. Aloha
