Cool rock formation and atmosphere!!!

Nice work Alex, I can see the additional formations between the ridges have been added since your last shot of this planet. Have you thought about blending the materials at those points for additional variety?! Could look like a spore or something other that lives in those gaps :)) Just an idea. Like the simplicity of design & complex result. These could be rock formations or a burrowing creature..lol :)

Cool displacements, i like that some of the displacements are smaller and look like boulders. The dense atmosphere and wide angle shot creates quite a dramatic image. Very good !

Cool textures and atmosphere. Great mood to this too... kind of has that spooky isolated alien planet look to it. Very cool scifi.

Fantastic alien surface.

Those mountains look like the shells of some alien insects. Nice!

The angles of the erosion and the shape of the pillars indicate layers of volcanic material with other material in-between, forming "pipes", that were later tilted to the left as the ground bulged upward on the right-hand side inside a shallow mountain of much softer material (ocean sediment?). As erosion progressed, the hard pipes were exposed and wear started, with the different layers eroding at different rates, more at the top than the bottom (higher winds as you go upward in this atmosphere?). The prevailing wind is also to the right, hence the erosion straightening the tilted pillars -- I assume that eventually they will be curved to the right like shark fins and then erode away altogether. This is a VERY interesting picture. Lots of points of interest to wonder about. I really like it!! Nathan Okun
