Description

St. Coloman Church is named after a monk of either Irish or Scottish origin who was hanged on 18 October 1012. The origins of this church are not clear but it had a reputation as a pilgrimage place by 1429. It has been enlarged several times over the centuries and during the plague in the 1630s 300 bodies had been buried near the church. It is not used for regular services but still plays an important role for special religious and historical events. It is located near Schwangau and north of Schloss Neuschwanstein, Bayern, Germany. This picture was taken on 30 September 2006. Thank you for viewing and commenting on my uploads and a special 'Thank you' to those that may have saved some of them as their favorites, Sig....
