Description

I took a drive down to the river once again, just yesterday, to my favorite hot spot for Wintering Trumpeter Swans, and was in my glory to have seen hundreds if not thousands, once again! The Swan lady saw me with my camera; she smiled & waved, as she fed them buckets full of chopped corn. Hundreds of duck were there and of course ............... "our' ONE Wood Duck :-), still following that Mallard around like it was his shadow. So dang cute. lol Tough to decide which one to upload; so I just will decide on this one. These two were in perfect sync here, drinking the water. I hope you all had a very nice Christmas :-) Shari December's not over yet! Check out the December Photo Challenge! There's still time to play! :-) - The Side Less Seen!

Shot well seen. It is very interesting. Hadn't thought of it before but while drinking, these swans have to hold their heads up or the water doesn't go down. Also, I suppose that is a rock poking up out of the water but it sure looks like a fish just eyeing the swans. Fish don't do that. Cool... Bill P.S. I appreciated your comment today. When I work on something for more than an hour I grow quite attached to it :-)

Terrific shot of the Trumpeter Swans, trumpeting their presence among the many other wildfowl in the area. Love those water effects, but the long necks of the swans, which look quite motor oily, need an immediate washing and scrubbing.

I love the off white shading, gives it a classical feel and it has a wonderful animation effect with the drops caught in mid air. I hope you had a lovely time with family and friends. :)
