As promised - or "threatened", depending on whether one likes this kind of stUFf or not lol - yet more cubofractostracto-ness using the IFSBarnsley+Jock III formula. lol
This'n is named for the outrigger raft (do you see the "boat"?) sailed by Thor Heyerdahl, who sailed from South America to the Polynesian Islands in the 1940's or 50's to prove that some people could have come from the islands to America and not just across the Alaskan land bridge. The boat was built exactly like what they would have used WAY back in ancient times and out of the same crude materials. It took him and his friends like 100 days and they went over 4000 miles but they made it. What a cruise THAT must have been! I tried to give a sorta Maori or polynesian vibe in the colors and even the sig. (ok, so the maori are from New Zealand but it's in the general direction...lol)
Thanks for stopping by - sorry, on THIS cruise I'm afraid Capt. Thor said we hafta catch our own fish dinners...s'ok - I like sushi! ;-)

This is pure beauty.

I remember the postcard - "Having a whale of a time." Instead of a stamp he used a bottle! Waste not, want not. I'm still disappointed he didn't try to put the boat into the bottle. A nice picture: it grabs the imagination.
