I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

WOW, great shot. Tell Bruce, I know the feeling about missing the kids at Christmas time. All of mine had the flu so we will go up sometime this week. An 18 month old grandson sure does add to the spirit of the season.

For the life of me, I can't make out what is in the reflection and I have really tried... maybe some sort of animal? or a BBQ pit with a stove pipe on top? I'm just too nosey! :-) Anyway, I love the light reflected off the amber. I am one who loves amber and I have several amber stones that fascinate me with their captured bits of history inside. This is really cool! As for missing grandkids, etc., I thought I would this year but truth be told, the peace, quiet, relaxing atmosphere gave the day a new and interesting dream-like quality that seemed to make up for the yelling, running, needy situations I usually have on Christmas day - and then there is activity created by the grandkids, etc. LOL)

very beautiful ... !!

Stellar POV employed to capture the stark lighting and textural effects! Oh, if you could only pull off a "Jurassic Park" and create some dinosaurs with the DNA, Carin! That would be so spectacular and jaw-dropping. You would be an easy winner of the Nobel Prize and make the cover of Time Magazine!

Great macro. I can see how this tree's teardrop would catch your eye from a distance with that sparkle.
