Description

Bloomington, IN Walking with my brother-in-law Tim and his dog Kuro, the stocky black Labrador. In the forest, a lowland was flooded last spring. It's amazing how it's recovered, including this pre-existing trail. Tim pointed out the seeds, freshly blown in. Next summer it will be 10 ft of weeds for sure. A crisp 35 deg F here, but the day before had seen 73 deg F (!), high winds and heavy rain, very unusual for a late December day. Have a great 2009!

Hope you have a fantastic new year too. Your image is kind of a metaphor for the cycle of life.

I remember that day as I live in Ohio....it was so nice and warm and I wanted to get out and walk some, but was unable due to my busy schedule....man did it rain here that night....and I wish it had been snow instead. Your forest scene looks just like a nature park near me too.

Amazing how the temps can fluctuate like that, isn't it? We're getting -15F to 30F around here; I'm so sick of it, I could ............ well, I'll just say I look forward to spring :) nice shot Jim. :)
