Description

coupla mirages making haste from le bourget. i like low and slow, but jet fighters do hold their fascination. the first time i saw a "viking departure" was many years ago. an f-15 took off and went straight up nearly perpendicular to the runway in a roar till i couldn't see it anymore...i still am amazed when i think of it...catapulted towards heaven on a tongue of flame...poetic, n'est-ce pas? mirage free from bazze (ya gotta love this guy), Apollo Max, and pilot gear from vanishing point and adh3d, (thanks to the french people for Le Bourget) Nutz and boltz in poser, featherz and wingz in vue6inf, oxygen to clear the brain in cs3. (and please...pardon my french!)

Say what you will about the Frenchies, they make some fine hot flying machine, and they're the only others (besides us) in the whole wide world with enough testicular fortitude to have REAL carrier aircraft and guys (gals?) to fly 'em! Good work, bud (in French)!!

When I was in TAC USAF, stationed at Bergstrom AFB in Austin, Texas, we used to catch rides with the F-4 pilots going up for quals and flight pay time. I had such and opportunity one time and the pilot hit the end of the runway, pulled full back on the stick and kicked in the after burners. We shot straight up, leaving my stomach behind and a couple of black soot circle scorched into the concrete, by the headquarters building. What a trip. A lot more fun than loafing around in an OA2. Very nice image, even if they are French.
