Description

After Bruce Willis I thought I'd spend some time in color again :p Gets boring to paint in grey scale actually. Anyway...this is Cate Blanchett, one of my favorite actresses, and probably one of the most beautiful ones as well. No offence, but she's probably also the most beautiful Queen Elizabeth that England ever had ;) The main reason for this painting (if I need one) is that her skin has this transparent feel to it that I want to capture. Also, there's something about natural beauty that is very difficult to duplicate since that kind of beauty also holds a lot of personality. The skin so far is made in 4 layers, one of them is actually greenish :p And I'm focusing on the face right now since this is a rather big painting. Otherwise it'll be too disorganized. We'll see how it goes. I didn't get much sleep last night because of this cold that is slowly turning into Bronchitis, which means that as soon as I put my head on the pillow, my chest explodes in cough attacks. So I'm painting instead of sleeping for as long as my head will allow me. With a bit of luck this will be ready by tomorrow. Glad you enjoyed Bruce Willis and thank you for comments and get well wishes. Hope your 2009 will be a good one :D

It goes great, and she is a beautiful actress, with that strange and peculiar kind of beauty. Hope you be well. Take care and Happy New Year.

Sorry about your illness. Keep up the great work. I love the beautiful Cate too. Maybe this could be the start of a LOTR run, like the Dr Who characters? D

As art teacher, I agree with that kind of evolution, showing the way to make a realistic painting.
