Well I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season and is set to ring in the new year in style and happiness. I myself, will be shopping for curtains today - yuck!. But just a reminder to take public transit home tonight after making merry. Have a Happy New Year everyone!
I am dedicating this photo to Minda073. Minda is a very gifted photographer who posts some breathtaking images of her former home in the Philippines as well as some very remarkable places in her current home of California. Lucky her that she gets such wonderful weather to celebrate the New Year. Minda has been very supportive of my 3D works here and I wanted to take this moment to thank her.
I do not get to practice night photography as often as I would like. And the sights of the City of Toronto are a great place for that sort of fun. Many of my night shots are of the city. I took this photo during the summer on my last vacation. Yes I normally vacation in a big city. Unfortunately, I have not been able to visit Toronto often in the last few months and the weather has not co-operated when I have. That's why my streetcar photos have dropped off recently. I'm hoping that will change fairly soon.
This ghostly TTC streetcar is a CLRV "Red Rocket". She is streaking southbound on the Spadina Line (Route 510) and currently skirting the western boundary of the University of Toronto, above the College Circle near Harbord Street. If you are interested, I have outlined some of the history of the Spadina Line in a previously posted photo entitled TTC CLRV 4134 On Spadina Avenue. That photo celebrated the 10th anniversary of the resurrection of the Spadina Line back in 2007.

Great shot, though I'd agree with Biffowitz. The only thing that makes the TTC "Rocket-like" is that trying to navigate most of the city in a car is even slower, partly due to street cars ;) Not that I don't think they're useful, they just have their drawbacks.

This is a super capture. I love trams, in all of their guises, and I miss the characteristic sound of the ones in Prague (I'll get back to them soon enough, I hope). The light and mood in this is astonishingly rich...the colors are brilliant, wonderfully brought out by the surrounding darkness. Great work with a fantastic, rich mood.
