well as always, my timing's WAY off, but I'll do it anyway, a new year's image for 2009. (Nice going, Mark!) Anyway, I love the image and remember it from other visits to your gallery. I like what you did with the image, the different colors blanketing this or that portion of the image, and your letting the fireworks stand-out so boldly, as well as the saturated blues for the boats in front. It's a nocturnal image, mythic in character, and feeling like light coming into the dark season. Your clarity is strong as always, the vertical elements (the posts coming out of the water) harmonize with the streaks from the fireworks. And the structures in the background---I don't know them, as I'm not a native of the area---make a mysterious accent to it all. More creative seeing from you, and a fine way to usher in the mystery of the darkest time of year. More beautiful work from you, Flavia. Well after 2 hours and 15 minutes, I now take my leave, regrettably. But I hope to be back again before 2 months. Fine and creative work, as always...
