Description

Two all-terrain rovers depart from a scientific outpost to explore the rim of a nearby crater, the result of an asteroid impact centuries ago that left a depression the size of the MidWest States. Back to my beloved Bryce for this one.Since VUE7 Pioneer does not allow importing or exporting of models,I decided to get my fix with some of my models created in Bryce6.1 while I hone my modelling skills within Vue.All items were created in Bryce...the rover is a model some will recognize from previous posts, but I changed the textures. The structures are rendered in a combination of customized preset mats and textures from cgtextures.com.The terrains are a preset texture, with the foreground one combined with a phototexture to add more detailing.Sky is a custom.Rendered in Superfine mode, with volumetric world selected in atmo settings. Thanks for viewing and comments, and Happy New Year to everyone at Renderosity!

The shadows and dust lend a real sense of realism to this. Cool sense of scale, too. The terrain came out very well. It looks like it has a layer of dust on it.

Very nice! Might just be fog at zero altitude, but it looks like you've got a dust trail running off those rovers.

Excellent image, Neil! The lighting and atmosphere are spot on, and the models are superb, as usual. I can't wait to see what you do with modeling in Vue... :o) Happy New Year!

Very realistic setting, Neil. I especially like the structures and the bit of dust cloud being kicked up by the rover's movement.

Lighting and dust is perfect. A darker sky might add to the mood, try a second sky rendered into the scene and layer it in. Just my opinion. The scene is awesome as is.
