Description

Happy new year to all Renderosity members. This is my first upload 2009. Nothing special. I have tried to create an atmosphere which has a kind of northern lights effect. This is the result. The terrain is a photo I've saved as BMP, then loaded into Paint Shop Pro for postwork and finally loaded into Terraformer for saving as terragen terrain (sounds complicated I know ;)) Thanks for viewing, commenting and rating. If somebody has some tipps how to create a better nothern light effect please let me know.

Perfect Northern light effect! I know what you meant by the terrain process, sounds complicated but it's a piece of cake :-) Happy New Year my dear friend!!!

Schickes Terrain und interessanter Himmel. Vielleicht würde ein kleiner dezenter Bliss auch gut zum Namen paßen :)

Well, a kind of 'Aurora Borealis'. Very nice! A tip? More Colored Cloud-Layers or/and colored lights!

So pretty! Great terrain & atmo. The way I usually get lights is by tweaking the sun settings. All of them. Lol. Especially the reverse light, (shadow settings & colors) & the glow settings. But the 'Effect on Atmosphere' of the sun really changes everything. It works... sometimes. Lol. All in all though, I don't think anything influences lights like the atmospheric Light Decay. Even point spacing effects the lights. But its still basically a crap shoot. Happy new year! ")
