This pic here was taken at 24th July 2008 in Berlin at the "Siegessaeule", the "Victorias Pilar".
This was the ONLY PLACE in Europe where Barak Obama spoke to the people directly, and I as a the "Berlin Reporting Guy" (LOL) musted be a fool not to hear him; the place is only 5 minutes from my flat. More then 200 000 Berlinians came, only to see a candidate, not a president.
No, I haven`t seen him, I was too late, I was only the number 17 541 in the 502th row (left)and I was only able to take his portrait from a big screen. But his words were remarkable, and the feeling remained at a big rock festival.
I held this pics back till the Americans had voted, and now its time to show 2 or 3 of them...
For you, my american friends, I held this pics back till today. I think, I hadn`t the right to show them earlier, YOU had to vote, and I as a foreigner hadn`t the right to give good words or arguments. But my heart is with him, and with me are many, many millions wordwide. And now its time to show it. This is my will.

Very nice capture. I think he will go back to a Wilsonian Foreign Policy if everything he has been saying he sticks with. Wilsonian - the FP established by Woodrow Wilson and followed by most presidents afterward before/during WWI and the concept that US policy should be lawful and moral.

Thanks Bill. I voted the other way, but now that the election is over, he's my guy! Whoever takes up the responsibilities of such a high office deserves our prayers and support. Neat picture and yes, he's extremely well spoken. Now, meat must be added to the bones. Bill

I'm with you Bill. As a South African I fully support and have high hopes for Mr Obama. He is a great man and if the American people all get behind him, he will do amazing work! ...but that's just me...

Thanks for sharing your impressions with this image. I agree with you: we can. He is an inspiration to many. I did vote for him, admire him, and have great hope for the future. This is a major historical event and I, for one, look forward to the inauguration.
