In its hayday, I'm sure it was really something; still has a sense dignity, though!!! David

I love your "country scenes" !! I live in a place that's not on many of maps. It's technically a pin-prick of a dot in Maine. The main artery, Route 9/202, runs straight through our village. But there's not one stop light here! Closest one is 7 miles away. Thinking about living in a concrete jungle with no {natural} nature...(permanently)...makes me cringe. Of course I have many friends, that weren't brought up living here "IN THE STICKS". The idea of it makes them cringe! People "From Away" are always complaining their cell phones won't work in "These Parts"!! My Dad always said we lived at 40th & Plum..."40 miles from nowhere & plum back in the woods"!!! My parents have an (grandfathered) outhouse...IN USE. They had a well pounded in '93. Money, (a whole $8000)[whoopie], from my Uncles passing in '92, made it possible. Seemed SO WIERD to have running water. It's ONLY COLD WATER & is only in the kitchen. They heat water on the wood stove in the colder months; and on the gas stove if it's above 75F outdoor! Mom has a automatic washer & a gas dryer; but she "hates" them. She much more desires to use her old 50's Maytag Wringer Washer. Then out to the clothesline they go; year round! Keep snapping them pics. There are definitely still some of us "Country Bumpkins", THRIVING out here!!

Wow, nice to see what these old barns really look like! Unfortunately, living in an urban area, I don't get to see them, so I need to resort to 3D and imagination. Nice picture!
