Description
There are some artists here who do wonderful work with cheap pens. Well, last night some friends decided we should draw with Bics. (I'd just been in the gallery of Demented_She_Penguin who does wonderful work with those little buggers, so I decided to give it a shot...) Well... I used one ball pt & one felt. The drawings are a litttttttle heavy, but hey, I haven't used Bics in an eon! (I gotta blame someone...) However: I won a contest for consuming the most ink in a drawing since the 1400s. The prize: A drawing by their dog! (For real: Their dog did a drawing with her paw! I'll upload it tomorrow, it's a knockout...)

Mark I must agree with the gentleman above as this is stunning. You make light of your work with Bic's here but for me it is incredible that you can create such amazing images from such a simple device. These drawings remind me of one's you might see from long ago done in a classic style. I can't wait to see what the dog comes up with. Most important I hope your feeling better my friend.

Another automatic smile here. FIrst, just the title had me grinnin, then your drawings, cuz I knew where we were goin, then your narrative!! Now, I'm even chuckling-- But let me tell you, it doesn't matter what I use to draw, it always looks like something else (someday I'll you about the tree and the cow), so I'm always so impressed by whatever else someone can do.

Thanks for the educational bic program LOL. I thought the challenge was like my challenges always grapping a dried up pen ;-)

These are great. I love the bottom one with the cross hatching. It gives your drawing wonderful character and depth. It reminds me of a beautiful interpretation of a rose. Awesome work and congrats on using the most ink. Can't wait to see your price.

A lot of ink put to real good use, Mark. Fascinating idea using such a basic tool and finding inspiration in it. Very strong presentation.
