Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I've always been fascinated with planes of any kind and love going to our small airport here just to watch them....but too afraid to ever fly....great post my friend!

Fantastic shot, the detail is superb, not easy to catch. My limited zoom doesn't allow me to get this detail from planes. great stuff Bill!

Gorgeous shot. 5 stars!

Beautiful, (even though I'm not an airnut!)

Great capture Bill:)

Great shot. I can almost hear the unique sound of a P-51. Don't you know that the ground crew was kept busy polishing that beauty. I think we ought to team up and get Gypsyflame in the air. She will find in a lot more fun than sitting on the ground and watching.

Very nice, sharp photo!

A great capture of this stunning aircraft Bill, it looks in superb condition

Wonderful shot. Just saw a program on the Military channel about the P-51 and several other great planes of WWII.

Excellent capture Bill, the P-51 was always a favourite model to make when I was a kid, we had these kits named Airfix, they were great, I did several USAF models including the flying fortress, along with a ton of brit ones of course :)

I don't think i've ever seen a P51 photo where the polished alloy is so striking. You did a splendid job here Bill, especially as it was caught in the moment. Well done mate.

A great capture, and looks great on zoom. hugs Jane xx

Awesome capture! The sign looks just like the one from U.S. Truck Co.!

Superb shot, Bill.
Osper
Nice shot. It shows up the texturing even on all metal aircraft.

Oh, this is fanTAStic!!!!!

Pretty good capture of the P-51 with its propeller frozen in this one, Bill! The P-51, one of the, if not the best, fighters of WWII, originally designed and built in 120 days, on order from the RAF. Allison engine wouldn't suffice at high altitudes, so they had to refit with the Merlin engine.

A stunning shot of a wonderful aircraft. Would love to hear one in action. Cheers, Clive

Well thanks indeed, my friend! Found this beauty late but I would have got there eventually! Indeed the Cadillac of the Skies, because it had a comfortable cockpit. Spitfires were not! Very slim, very fast! This shot is a perfect angle to take of this plane. Shows off the intake well. Great one. MORE!? Rob.

Classic lines in this great shot of one of the two most elegant (and effective) fighters of WWII. Why is it that the square wingtips look just fine on the P-51, but out of place on a clipped wing Spitfire?
