Description

[Please click on image for full size] This scene is the secondary render I had made for a photograph prop, in which I needed for My Immortal. I felt that "My Immortal" wouldn't have had the same meaning or as much impact, let alone reason for her to be holding herself, with a tear streaming down her cheek if it weren't for a photograph taken of her in the company of someone else who means something to her. Be it a friend, relation or whatever you as the viewer chooses to interpret it. The lighting may be fairly basic and non-dramatic, the scene itself probably anti-climatic, but then again it serves well for the purpose of this render being a photograph prop. Perhaps in the future, photograph hardcopies don't age or wear like they are prone to nowdays, hence the pristine condition - no creases, bends, smudges or other effects. Perhaps she kept the photo in a frame. Btw, for what its worth, that Crabdog tank is a pretty sweet futuristic tank model. The chainlink fence comes from Andi3d's awesome and still very useful Cityscapes and Ultimate Urban sets, which are on clearance right now. They still are IMHO holding up well for their age. The sky and background landscape was also made in Carrara, no photograph needed. I just thought I'd might as well share this piece, as originally its obscured partly by shadow. :edit / addendum: Yes theres the little metal boxes on the girl on the right. Thats Shukky's new Cy-Co available at ShareCG, those have a particular function. I forgot to apply a skin texture over them, though I suppose they'd still appear as a visual oddity. I'm also wondering if the skylightlight strength value is too weak or too strong. Its at 150 right now, I orignally had it at 199, though alot more of the face and skin was washed out into whiteness. Thankyou for viewing. Comments, constructive criticism and opinions are always and especially welcome.

Very nice! The girl on the left is the prettiest (Aiko 3 had goofy mouth morphs, doesn't she? Unfortunately, the Melody figure shares those problems ... ). I think the lighting may be a little strong/harsh, it looks like it washed out some of the unique shadows in the landscape behind the fence, though the foreground looks good. Everything there looks like flat 2D planes ... it could be a photograph because of lack of occlusion, atmosphere, and depth. It should fade slightly into the background in the distance instead of being paper-sharp.

ButtercupSaiyan Hmm, I guess I forgot to use some Depth of Field setting on the camera. I guess that'll call for a quick re-render and swap. I slightly goofed - the girl on the right is A3, and the girl on the left is Shukky's Cy-Co, which wears / fits A3 clothing, and she's wearing the Civil Servant for A3 outfit. NoelCanYourwelcome and, much appreciated! It feels nice to give comments and receive comments. digitani, Yeah Carrara drives me nuts too sometimes. Not what it can do or does, but more-so the utter lack of useful documentation provided with it. So it becomes more of a 'how do I / achieve this' effect that I'm striving for. Great if you can find out how by searching Rendo's, Daz's or Runtime's Carrara forums, if not either figure it out yourself or make due without it. I also love the full environmental freedom that Carrara offers. And sometimes it just downright is annoying unable to complete an image render due to running out of system resources (2gb is what i'm stuck at right now). I've been using Carrara ever since I bought it in March and its been a constant learning process. Thanks all for the feedback sofar :) I'll see what I can do for a re-render for the mountains.

Very natural looking scene, it does look like they are off duty and hamming it up for the camemra. Cool idea, characters and backdrop, the fence adds credibility to the scene. Nice work!
