Description
This one is for my dear friend Peggy, whose magical, mythical portraits of strong women have inspired me since I first joined Renderosity. Although Peggy says she sometimes struggles to be a warrior she has always shown me a resilience of spirit that is fundamental to being a true warrior. One need not always be hard to be a warrior, at times suppleness, resilience and even charm are what is required. It is in these roles that female fighters often excel. I have no doubt in my heart that Peggy is a warrior in the fullest sense of the word. Blessed be my dear friend.
This is my new version of the Goddess Ishtar in her full blown warrior incarnation. Silver's Tamora is well suited to being a warrior as she wonderfully shows her dark emotions. I modified her morphs a bit to give her a more middle Eastern appearance.
My Wiccan friends will recognize the title of this piece from one of our favourite rites, but what else could I call this work?
Charge of the Goddess
Cross scorched ground thick with smoke
One might think her spirit broke
When she has all but lost her mark
When all things seem completely dark
But looking up she will see the stars
And swing the sword that belongs to Mars
Her warrior's spirit will then ignite
And guide her forward to the light
Charging on she will show no fear
For she fights for what is dear

A wonderful image and play on words in the title, Roxy. I also love Peggy's work; she is one of my favorite artists here at Rendo. Once again your words are a perfect complement to the image. It's fun to see the new Ishtar in action; she looks like she really means business. Those gauntlets are some kind of wicked - I wouldn't want to get back-handed by this lady! Another superb image. Bravo!
