Taken from the Alaskan Railroad on the way to Denali National Park in September '08. Could not believe the vivid autumn colors.

Great foliage in this. And love the train. A Local hardware store (OSH) gives out a calendar each year with train pics and paintings on it. This reminds me of it. Nice shot.

tennesseecowgirl: Yes, I was leaning waaaay out from the open observation deck at the rear of the club car! There were so many places I would have loved to have jumped off for a picture, but alas, the train wouldn't stop for me... I loved this train... First class service, food and drink, stunning scenery and very informed crew that would narrate to items of interest along the way. If you ever have the opportunity to take the train from Fairbanks to Seward, defeinitely take the "Gold Star" service provided by the railroad and not the "packaage" deals from the cruise lines.
