Description

Taken Monday 5th Jan. Alkrington Woods,Middleton,Manchester. Not much ever makes the news here on my 'doorstep' but this place has been on the BBC National breakfast news only this morning! An on the spot live interview with a guy who waded into one of the frozen fishing lodges/reservoirs up to his NECK to save his dog who had walked the ice and fell in. people took pictures, It happened on the same day I took this shot, wish I had seen it with my camera lol. so you just get two swans lol.

A very well timed capture Alan, and as Tara has pointed out a drop of water must have just dropped from the second swans beak. You couldn't get a splash as good as that if you tried for it at home in the kitchen. Excellent swan capture and a bonus splash. Bravo!!!!! Silly man could have died of hyperthermia.

As soon as I saw the narrative Alan, I knew I had only heard the name of the woods today, I saw the news and the man and his dog, both very lucky to have survived. Lovely shot
