Description
Cullasaja Falls, right on US64 between Franklin and Highlands, NC. We left home in rain.....heavy rain. We felt the need to "go to water"......if you are Cherokee you will understand.....we just didn't realize how dangerous this day would become....on US64 coming home, through the Ocoee River area, the rain had produced enough flow to create dangerous waterfalls coming off of the mountains and onto the roadway. You can see how full Cullasaja Falls are....and this was before the heavy rains. Taken 1/6/09.

Ah...Blackfoot too! :-) I love the way the water takes its crooked path in this shot - the far distant disappearing in mist and fog. The mood is as if I were hiding under a heavy blanket peeking out at the unknown. Stellar work.

Yes, Blackfoot too....but the "going to water" comes from my Cherokee background. It was extremely misty and foggy when I shot this and by the time we came home it was far worse! But the photos were worth it.
