Firstly- I would to say a very big thank you to all the people who view and comment on my images! ^_^ This is my first image in the new year and I have found a new "friend"- Carrara is 'my first love' but when it comes to Bryce- "this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship!" hahahhaha that quote's from Casablanca in case you didn't know.
I love the way bryce 6.1 renders (especially well textured clothing) I would argue that is it better than Carrara when it comes to this. applying basic lighting is much easier- I used a spotlight, made the sun visible and slapped on one of the free HDRI's and played around a bit. Bryce naturally seems to remove grain better- yeah figures look more plastic (unreal) but it's not like I am trying to perfect any kind of realism here- this is just "by-the-way-click- and-drag" lighting. by now you must realise I am bit Lighting obsessed hahahahaha but I would like any kind of criticism to make my images better! (especially the lighting)
I am no master at any 3D program yet but it seems like Bryce allows me to do what I really want to do when I need AND want to do it and most importantly: it's easy! Carrara was a bit temperamental but with Bryce I just load it up and render- okay I am blabbing now.
Hope you like the image!

I too think that lighting is easier in Bryce than in Carrara. And I say this after using both Ray Dream Studio (the app that Carrara morphed from) and then Carrara itself....as for the image....I like the folded hands and overall simplicity of your image....nice work!
