Description

Last summer while photographing a patch of bright orange day lilies in a location where I photographed them before I noticed 2 unusual pale lilies. This is capture of the darker one of the 2 pale oddities. Originally I thought they were day lilies that had faded, the summer had been very hot and unusually dry so I thought that may have been a possibility. But I have since seen photos of other light colored lilies so maybe they just popped in to say hello, I have no idea what their story is. I am located in northeast Pennsylvania and I have not seen lilies of this color growing here, only the bright orange, yellow, and with some rarity the red varieties. Any flower experts can feel to enlighten me on this unusual find for me. The first word that popped into my head when trying to title this one was “Intimate”. There was just something about the fleshy color of the petals and the softness combined with the tight framing & gentle curves that made me think that title would work for this one. There may be ice on the trees right now but it’s still summertime in my computer : ) Thanks for viewing!

Beautiful! I think the title fits. I have seen lilies this color, but not in my garden (yet). I think it is wonderful that your computer holds summer. At least it is kept safe! This is a marvelous image the way you give this POV.

breathtaking macro. I have seen the lighter shades but not often. There are a few bulb catalogs on-line that have hundreds of types of bulb and tuber flowers in them. You might want to spend some time looking through those and I bet you'll find them.
