I had been wondering to myself why so many Red Sonja images had been appearing here at Renderosity lately. Curiosity got the better of me and after a web search for Red Sonja I was surprised to find that a remake of the original 1985 movie will soon be on our screens. Whats even more surprising is that the role of the deadly barbarian warrior queen has been given to cute little Rose McGowan, most famous for her role as Paige in the TV series Charmed. Apparently Rose is busy with fight training, sword training and generally building herself up into a deadly killing machine. Cant wait to see the end result! There are already some very stylish, striking images out there promoting the film, pictures with subtle colouring, bright lighting, strong shadows and ridiculously red hair flying in all directions. Bet you cant guess what inspired this image of mine? Strongly based on a poster for the movie, this is another image I worked on for ages to get just the right look. I'm quite happy with the end result and hopefully some of you will like it too. Thanks for the great support you guys have shown me already in 2009, I'm always a bit nervous about uploading my work and your kind comments give me the courage to keep making more pictures.
