Never use an umberella, and never liked Elvis, sorry, great shot though, I thought Little Richard deserved the title?...And of course let's not forget Freddie Mercury!

Old Shep was one of my favourites, I used to have it on an old 45 but I lent it to somebody and never saw it again, along with about tewnty others by him. Old shep he has gone Where the good doggies go And no more with old shep will I roam But if dogs have a heaven Theres one thing I know Old shep has a wonderful home A lot of people atribute this to Johnny Cash, but Elvis's version was the best imho. Whats on my umbrella? Lambert & Butler cigarettes, I got it free with tokens, I haven't smoked for 20 odd years, and its been in the boot of the car since I got it. I don't know what condition its in. Lol. Excellent image Lynell. Bravo!!!!!

LOL Nice commemorative. For a long time, the only umbrella in our house was a little pink one with the word 'Barbie' all over it. I agree with Ronnie, but I don't know Freddie Mercury. My brother skipped school to go dance for Dick Clark's American Bandstand on TV in Philadelphia. He was older, and specialized in Elvis impersonations. There's a place in Breaux Bridge, LA, that has a cabin along the Bayou Teche completely decorated in Elvis memorabilia. The floor is black and white linoleum. We declined, preferring low-key surroundings, but you just might love it.

Elvis was good, but never been my #1 fav artists... I am a KISS fan, so now you'll understand why! I still don't believe that Elvis really died... Love your umbrella, great shot!

Now, Elvis was older than me, but I heard his first record being played on the radio in the very early 50s...1953 or '54 maybe? Of course we kids had to turn the volume up...my mother hated that "rock & roll music"...that just egged us on a little more! Got any original SUN records? Bill

My grandma would not let my mom or aunt watch Elvis on TV because he was too vulgar. I always loved 'Don't be Cruel' the best. Great shot!

It was a sad loss of a legend, his music and films live on. I was brought up on Motown, I have older brothers, they were really hooked. I have a very large Ferrari umbrella, not that I use one much as its can be pretty windy here being on and Island. Love your imaginative capture.
THROBBE
Elvis lives!!! Nice idea! I think a have a regular boring black umbrella though.
tennesseecowgirl
Yes, Bill, I have a few old Elvis records, along with all my old albums.I know my mom does for sure, I grew up listening to him because she did, she forever played his music, and Andy Williams and my mind is blanking right now for his name but the one women would throw their clothing at.. just came to me Tom Jones LOL.. I didn't have much choice but to learn to love it. Lol song on radio that JUST came on here is HOUND DOG what timing... always wondered about the line... You ain't never caught a rabbit and you aint no friend of mine WTF does that mean anyway??
skipper62
Great shot. Hope you don't have to use the umbrella for it's intended purpose today. That would look cool, cut the handle off, put some indirect lighting behind it an hang in on the wall where everyone could see it. In the mountains of GA today. Hanging pictures and getting ready for our trout fishing crew to come week after next. push the submit button Skipper
Faemike55
Great picture! let's not forget the Drummer for the Doors, Robbie Kreiger(sp?) Can't help falling (in love) has to be the best romantic song. But I'm not really an Elvis fan. Enya and others like her

Very nice work Lynell !!! [^____^] cool idea!! I have a lot of memories of different times or when new Elvis songs would be released back when Elvis was still with us, I liked most all of his songs but as far as a very favorite song... my favorite is "One Night With You" Great lyrics and performance and Awesome guitars in that song too for that time. Cheers, Roger
flora-crassella
a great birthday gift for Elvis!!!
goodoleboy
Interesting dedication. Young enough to be my son. I was wondering by the title whether you meant King Arthur, Cole, George III, Kong, or Elvis. I've heard of Beach Blanket Bingo, but not Beach Umbrella Bingo.
bronwyn_lea
Can you believe he would be 74? Just doesn't seem possible. Yes, he is still the King!
Miska7

Minda

Very nice dedication. to a very talented artist my favorite song of his is "Suspicius Minds" and "In the Ghetto" I got the chance to visit his house in Graceland and it seemed strange because I recognized some of the records and style furniture (streos and telephones) in his house from my childhood. So it was not like taking a tour of say Geoerg Washington's house because the items had a peculuiar familiarity to them. but there was this one thing that really impressed me it was like a giant clear plexiglass thing with all of his ablbums encased in in this huge tall pryamid thing! It looked like something an elvis cult would worship at. ...chanting "Elvis lives"!! Think about it!

COOL CAPTURE :)
