When I snapped this a few days back, I never thought it would be the last picture of my little 'poster child' fuzzy buddy Niles. He's the one raising his head. Only 4 1/2 years old and lost to lymphoma yesterday afternoon. Niles was nearly invisible after he outgrew his 'horrible baby' stage, but his nicknames tell it all: Goober J, Goobs, Uber Goober, Uber-stuffed Goober, The Great Foodini, etc. Yes, he loved to nosh. He loved to play with his litter mate and sister Lilith. She hasn't quite figured this out yet, but something in the household has changed again. She is now the reigning Ancient One all too soon. It's enough responsibility for a little ferret madam to be the Queen of Tarts with the influx of little girls, but now she has to keep Bertolli !!! and Um-bear-to in line... when the latter is awake.
