Some of you know me as 3D newbie chemicalX here, but I decided to focus my gallery on my new passion in life - photography. I've been dabbling around in photography for a few years now and I've fallen head over heels in love with it. My partner, Shane, got me a Canon EOS 20D for my birthday and started me on a path of obsession! A path that I would like to share through this gallery. The chemicalX gallery will stay up to showcase my 3D stuff and if I do ever get back into it, I'll upload those things there, so keep an eye on that too. I appreciate any feedback I get, so if you have any comments or critique (be it good or bad - as long as it's done in a "civilised" way), please do tell me - it's the only way that I'm going to get better at this. Also, eventhough I don't say thank you to everyone on an individual basis, I do appreciate all the feedback and comments you guys give me. Unfortunately 'rosity makes it quite a mission to say "thanks" to a comment. So just because I don't thank everyone individually, doesn't mean that I am not grateful for all the feedback. Thank you to all of you. If you would like to see more of my stuff, you can check out my gallery on dA. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my gallery. Take care, Yak

Actually, this is pretty cool...The crop makes it pretty dramatic. The late Heath Ledger played Ned Kelly in a movie a few years back, this kinda reminds me of the poster.

Not too bad at all!!

Nicely done! Self portraits are tough to do, especially since the photographer tends to be SO critical of the model! (I know it's like that around here!) Excellent work.

Definitely has a movie-style intensity to it, like micturn said. Not a bad self-portrait at all, well done!

Wicked shot man you almost expect the camera scene to pull back and you’re in a battle stance ready to take down the Fantastic 4 or something Ha!! Amazing shot perfect lighting like we had a doubt and your expression perfectly intense adding a sense of drama to the shot awesome! Like any shot it should make you wonder what's going on, who is this and were love it!!

Self-portraits are always so hard to judge, aren't they? Anyway, you did a really great job with this, I love the harsh edge it has to it and the way your eyes are fixed on the camera. Excellent shot.

I love your eyes:)

Well done. I did a self portrait today for a passport photo. I like using my bathroom because lots of light comes in through the window which I filter with a white sheet. Don't even need a flash.
