Description


A single antenna from the “VERY LARGE ARRAY” in New Mexico. Located About mid state off highway 60 to the west. This is the site where the movie “CONTACT” starring Jody Foster was filmed. Thank you for your visit! Comments are very welcomed!

Great shot! These antennas are VERY familiar to me as a work for the Very Large Array. Incidentally, they are also shown very briefly in beginning of the movie Independence Day and several commercials as well.

Yes, you are talking about the Antenna Array about 50 miles west of Socorro, New Mexico. I have been there many times and yes it is an impressive array. I have seen it when they have it spread out covering the valley floor and when its compacted inward. Amazing site.
