Surprises Inshore
As a rose looked upon the room
A chair in its spirit chimed
No one was stirring
Neither Delilah nor Katie
Cause there is hogging the bed
As snug in a blanket they were
A light shone woke up
Shining thru the window glowed
Forgot thought oops again
Porch light left on to guide
A rose thought ought to see
Crawled out from underneath
Not a sound to tiptoe and peek
To a big surprise indeed
Was not suppose to be
The weather was sun
Predicated and all
Mister was wrong
There was snow on the ground
So bright and white fluffy
Coverlet cheerful
Spunky eyes spoke
Was not suppose to be
As a rose looked upon
Time for a sleep
In a few hours
Will light a new whim
