Description

I went out to shovel during a snowstorm and thought my deck looked cool. In the meantime I woke to minus 21 this morning! Brrrr.... Thanks for the view and any comments you wish to leave. Stay warm! Jodie Please visit my personal website...

Minus 21: That's that powdery snow you get when it's really cold & not warm enough for the snow to get wet and form clumps, etc. What's fascinating is that the boards are flat, yet the snow makes them look curved (well, almost) as if the snow were collecting in their furrows. A really solid winter shot, the basic interplay between snow and surface that we all know & love (lol); and for reasons I couldn't say, it fells very midwestern. (Why would I say that! I mean this could be a deck anywhere in the world! Maybe its the flatness and sameness that makes me think of the part of the country we live in...) In Chicago we get the same weather, only the wind blows so hard you get all these 'sculptures' in the snow. A fine winter capture...(and the snow falls so evenly!)

Great shot of the snowy patterns. Minus 21... time you think of moving to the sunny south. We're only going to be minus 10 tonight.

Incredible how nature forms the perfect patterns with almost anything it has in its arsenal. Very sensible composition making use of the lines. Stay warm miss!

Stellar POV in this wonderful capture, Jodie! Nature creates the most unique patterns in its ceaseless efforts to impress us jaded humans. Been in the T-shirt and shorts 80s for most of the week here, with no rain forecast for the immediate future.
