Description
A couple of days ago I posted a photo of my girlfriend standing behind a Royal Guardsman's metal uniform at the Mini Europe theme park in Brussels. Taking the picture I couldn't avoid including a section of the Atomium in the background.
Now I knew it's Renderosity's policy to remove pics of the Atomium because they infringe on copyrights - in Belgium it is prohibited to show holiday snapshots you've taken of that structure to others. It's happened before (See my second version of a posting titled "Weird Europe 05 Revisited" of March 17, 2007 - you'll find a link among my statistics), and as they say, Once bitten, twice shy. But I couldn't possibly imagine that even a picture with only a tiny little part of the Atomium way in the background (not for effect, just because it happened to be there and wouldn't go away) would cause offense.
So here is most of the photo again, with the balls photoshopped out.

I'm sorry you had to Photoshop that out. That's ridiculous.

As you can see, it was a statement. (I could have lowered the top and made a nice light blue sky, but I didn't.) As it happens, Renderosity decided after close scrutiny of my original picture it didn't infringe on copyrights after all. So they reinstated it, leaving me embarrassed as now I have two similar pictures (and what will my girlfriend say when she finds out I've posted this silly photo of her?) Let's forget this. As for the Atomium in Brussels, they have only just been renovated but I'm sure sometime their balls will fall off.
