Description
This image is a study of some rugged, 'dirty' textures, which I think make all the difference in trying to reach photorealism.
Here come the credits:
Models:
-------
Baument: Concrete blocks, bolts
Anthony Appleyard: Wheel
Virtual Lands: Trash bin
3D Modelz: Spanner
Textures:
---------
Texture World/Ransom: Rust on pipes and bolts, concrete of floor, concrete of blocks, bricks, planks
Marlin Studios: Rust on wheel, old paint on door
Noctua: Zinc of trash bin
Unknown: Rubber of wheel
I pain-stakingly modelled the shed, fence, floor and pipes myself in Vue :)
Thanks for viewing.

Excellent work about texture.

A great start - but watch your scaling and also watch repeat textures - its worthwhile tweaking or rotating textures to get more randomness. Another tip - you can overcome the "Float" effect by grounding objects deepening ths shadows - Take a close look at the bolts in the mid-ground and the tyre. (The wooden fence in the background is particularly good).

When looking at that I know how a rat feels every day.

Mmmm, you're right about the floating tattie.... I placed the bolts as close on the floor as possible, but the shadows did not seem to get deeper. I did try to avoid repating textures by rotating and shifting and I didn't think there were any! Which ones do you mean?

Looks good. Now, if I could get that peeling paint texture in Bryce ...
