Description

a project I started some days ago...smile... I do love the paintings of Caspar David Friedrich a lot and this one especially, so I tried to copy him as best as I could which ment modelling the church and entrance ruins in vue and creating a monk silhouette in vue and than trying to get all this in a picture as near to the original as I could. So this is my first try. I combined my work with the original so you can compare. What do you think? Credits: Fall and winter weeds by Robin Kleb, Winter tree A, I and J from cornucopia

Wonderful work, especially with the modeling and the colors! I'm not crazy about knock-offs in general, but here you've created something all your own and unique, which reflects this artist's work and your own interpretation of it very nicely. I think too much accuracy could be a disappointment. :D

You've done an exellent job here, especially the modelling! The main thing I'm not sure on is the foreground trees. I'd change them for something closer to the original if you're after a similar look. You may have to model your own to get them just right. I'm rendering at the moment so I can't look if there's anything closer than the ones you used.

Looks really impressive. What a fantastic remake. You've done an excellent job. Caspar David Friedrich was an excellent painter and at some of my photos I was inspired by his paintings. :)

I think the looks of the trees are great because it gives a expression of them ready to fall from the roots and the whole image gives this look you did a marvelous piece here excellent work::5+++ Caspar David Friedrich--would be proud:

What do I think ? it's outstanding, really Friedrich like. Only a detail that I don't like : the bases ot the two front trees, specially the left one. But this small thing does not spoil this very good work

this is off to a great start!I agreed w/ Gill on the trees because they are such a dominat feature. the lighting needs to have alittle more of a "blast" to it and I think that the green/blue haze or fog in the distance would make a dramatic effect. try playing with the Fog and Haze dials on density and you can adjust the color of the F & H as well.

Looks relatively close in compostition and structure, although you created your own concept, Ulla. Friedrich's painting on the right looks like the aftermath of a bombing raid.

Very nice scene. It is easier said than done to try and copy a picture or painting, you did a great job! Well done.
