Welcome to my little place on Renderosity!
Since you're reading this, you would probably like to know something about me. Okay, where to start?
I was born in October 1980 in Stuttgart, Germany. Grew up, went to the kindergarten, to school, graduated and joined the armed forces for 10 months, which is kinda obligatory here... I actually wanted to study Jazz and popular music. So I spent about a year preparing for the conservatory's qualifying examination. Didn't attend, though, since I realized that it would be hard to almost impossible to make a living of it. So I looked for something else. Something more secure. So I started studying mathematics. Not my brightest idea, I have to confess...
After two semesters I exmatriculated and went for another job. At first I applied for a job in the IT sector, who didn't want me. Okay... So I wanted to be a cook. Well, at least for a few months. Then I realized that I wanted to go back to university, only into a totally different direction: American studies (and as a second major I picked Musicology). That's what I'm still doing.
The more interesting part is probably how I came to rendering. Well, there's actually not very much to say. I was always interested in digitally created landscapes, like the ones we see in movies, for example. Accidentally I stumbled about Terragen -- version 0.8x, back then. I continued to use that program for quite a while, but never with that much skill. This only improved after a little break. Unfortunately(?) that was about the same time when the tech preview of Terragen2 came out. I liked the way how things worked there, but I was a bit disappointed about the performance. Again by accident I heard about Vue and saw what it was capable of. I Just wanted to have it! It gave me the opportunity to do all the things I wanted to do, and which were hard to achieve in Terragen.
That's about it... Thanks for reading
