Description

Starting to texture now using a generic scheme used by 2/KG 26. Started to do some weathering but would like comments before proceedng further. Is it overdone, not enough or whatever? Comments and suggestions welcomed.

I built an Airfix Heinkel 111 years ago. Did they really have bright red propellers? Looks good. Probably better still when/if you put some crew inside.

Looking good! Yep! It would have been distressed as much as that. Bright red props yes, or white or yellow. depending what Staffel or part of the front. But this does looks good. Black exhaust fume marks would be good too. Well done. Rob.

Looks great so far and the weathering is not overdone considering the amount of operational time these were forced to endure. The more used the better when it comes to rendering a scene. My only comment, well request is when finished could you supply a template as these were used in so many theatres in so many colour schemes. This really is fantastic!

It's looking pretty good right now, i'd like to see it under better lighting though...

Nicely done job. Your weathering is spot on for an in service aircraft.

Humbly..Perhaps "dirting" the engine cowlings a bit would be a nice touch.

Thanks to all for the comments. The spinners came painted in all colours including checkerboard and spirals. I have only just begun the texture which is why only some of the upper surfaces have been done but wasn't sure whether I was 'overdoing' it a little. Not touched the underside as yet which is why there aren't any exhaust fume marks etc. Agree with the lighting though. Vue does a much better job of things and it looks a lot more vibrant, but I was in Poser at the time and feeling lazy.... As for the template, I will probably go a similar route as with the Lanc. Include a PSD so that the insignia can be easily changed and supply the complete PSD (including panel lines, rivets etc) as a seperate free download for the more adventurous. Once again thanks to all.

great work, in my opinion, more often than not, skin weathering is nearly always underdone

Great work man, the weathering and all... ------------------------------------ You might like to add the paraphernalia in the inside of the fuselage/cockpit,spars, wires, etc, and then shade them, making it more realistic (and usually interesting for us avi-buffs) P PS : I do believe that the inside colour for the germans planes in wwII was a kind of pale "sky-grey/blue" and in some instances a yellow - green hue
