I'd say a lot of thought went into this one with the complex masking of shapes. Interesting work, wondering if you'll take this further.

I've thought of coming here several times, but I just fall behind: I'm so grateful you showed up in my gallery because it finally got me to come here! I've seen several of your drawing/paintings and I've been very impressed. With november22 (tim) and groegnitram (martin), I see much time & vision in this, and many layers from your inner eye & heart...You use strong saturated blacks with real presence; you also use the more wash-like areas almost as reflection & inner thought. And the shapes of your stronger strokes show much expression—there's a lot going on in them (and in their edges). And I like the way you layer squares/rectangles in & out of your images, like images in a dream. It's truly dreamlike & thought-like, and as martin says there's much depth to find in there. Very expressive work, especially as you're working with blacks, whites & grays; and your brush is ever alive and genuinely touching.

I've seen this a couple of times and I'm now able to comment on it, if the internet connection here agrees to it. I love this piece, it reminds me of an exquisitely complex glyph, representing equally complex emotional concepts. I think its in the byplay of all of the elements. The lines, drawn so boldly, give excellent definition to the angular aspects of this--kinda like a cellular membrane, while within areas of the piece, where your eye quite intuitively wanders, there are washes, empty spaces, and even visual vacuums of sorts. All of it works together, rather organically, right down to the paper texture. Fantastic work, and most definitely, a favorite.
