Une exoplanète peut etre definie comme une planète orbitant autour d'une autre etoile que le Soleil. La detection de "planetes naines" comme Pluton n'est pas à l'ordre du jour puisque le defi actuel reste de detecter des planetes de la taille de la Terre.
Telle est la definition que l'on peut raisonnablement adopter pour le moment en gardant cependant a l'esprit que cela peut evoluer ... en fonction des decouvertes que l'on fera et de l'evolution de nos connaissances sur la facon dont les planetes se forment.
Classification:
A l'heure actuelle les astronomes distinguent plusieurs types de planetes:
- "jupiters chauds"
- "neptunes tiedes"
- "planetes oceans"
- "superTerres"
A exoplanete can be defined like a planet orbiting around another star that Sun.
The detection of " dwarf planets" like Pluto isn't in order today.
since the current challenge remains to detect planets of the size of the Earth. Such is the definition that one can reasonably adopt for the moment while keeping however has the spirit that can evolve according to the discoveries that one will make and of the evolution of our knowledge on the way in which the planets are formed. Classification:
