No, not a little green man !
I actually dont know the exact name of this bird (could be a Laurakeet) but they are now firmly established in the London area and there are many of them inhabiting the parks and skies. I don't know how widespread they are yet but they dont seem to mind the climate for a tropical looking bird.
Unfortunately for as long as the trade in exotic pets continues we can expect more alien species to eventually establish themselves in far away places.

LOL it happens all the time..the English sparrows outside my window wave to you;-) This is a cutie, I wonder what he eats, though? Surely there aren't that many biscuits lying about in London?

it is a Ring-necked Parakeet. my main objection to them is that they take over the nest-holes of native birds, especially Nuthatch and Lesser-spotted Woodpecker. The Nuthatch was already in decline because of the Grey Squirrel...i am hoping for some cold winters to give the native birds a chance to bounce back.
