Description

The scene depicts a city in the near future utilizing hover technology in the road infrastructure. My idea was that the repulsion/power source would be a grid in the roadbed, allowing the vehicle to only deal with control and steering, thus not requiring vast power in each vehicle. No matter what the weather, your trip would be the same- regardless of ice, rain or snow. This image languished on one of my hard drives, unfinished, for about 3 years now. It was originally done to feature my hover bus model, but I moved on to other things after numerous changes and dissatisfaction. I decided to finish it in some fashion and post it. It's done in Bryce 5.5; the hover vehicles, elevated trains, stoplights and streetlights were modeled in Studio Max 6; post in Photoshop. People from Poser 6. Asphalt road material is my own photo texture. The sky is alpha planes mapped with my own cloud photos. Credits: buildings / textures - Baumgarten Ent. signboard art - Parker Gibson (my son) (xprencingimag on flickr) Thanks for your views and comments.

The lighting on this is quite something - very realistic. Nice work!
