Description

This is a carnation from a bouquet I received just before it snowed here last month. The background is out my living room window, with about a foot and a half of snow everywhere! I loved the brilliant backlighting the snow provided.

Love the multicolored carnation. The backlighting is always a challenge but looks great when you've got it right...and you do. Nice job.

the full-res version gives hues that feel like flame, and the flower blazes against the brilliant-white background. A simple beautiful capture with lots of petal-light, and that snow background feels just perfect.

The background really does add so much to enhancing the bold color of the flower. So does the way the sun fills the cup of the bloom and holds it as one would hold a lightening bug.
