The oath of office will be administered to President-elect Obama and Vice President-elect, Joe Biden today on the steps of the Capitol, and here is to hoping that we all join in and support the changes ahead.
Thank you for your visits and comments to my latest upload. Also thanks to those of you that sent prayers and well wishes, I was very touched by that. By the way an update on that is that it was not as serious as we feared, and Michael I was so relieve to hear your news. Big hug. Well I am home today because of snow and ice conditions so I am going to be watching the inauguration with the rest of you and my daughter who is home today as well. She just walked in her a few minutes ago to say she was heading out side and I said for what? And she said to ‘play’ in the snow.. lol well it is just 7:00 a.m. here and dark out still so I wonder how long she last.
Hope

Beautiful capture and beautiful words Lynell! I watched the inauguration, and I teared up listening. What a change. When the previous president spoke I felt embarrassed for the way he butchered the language and I usually changed channels because the messages were so predictable. I hang on every word Obama says, like a teenager. My cousin Gundi, the owner of the house that is my 'home away from home' when in Oberammergau sent me an e-mail wishing us, the United States of America' and our new president the Best. I am sure she was only one in a few billion that watched the inauguration with hope in their hearts.

Reminds me of when I was stationed in Texas in the Army. And a few weeks after 9/11 tragedy I was to drive home to Indidana on leave. I don't think there were wasn't a house that didn't have some form of old glory flying from it. And that despite all of our diffrences we could come together as a nation and support each other like that! I don't think I will ever forget how proud that made me feel to be an American that day! Thank you for bringing back that great memory to me!
