Description

Perfect payback. Pulling lead on the one which shot him up is a piece of cake as his opponent is on a slow approach to land with a flame out. Neither of the 262's are aware of his presence. They think they've made it home. ( Note: camera angle gives appearance of a roomy cockpit) Yes.. U.S. Pilots flew British Spitfires throughout the war. (Note: Only P-51D's had an effective record of kills on ME262s, these are landing at a speed allowing the "Spit" to close for the kill)

Really cool and unusual perspective, must say if they don't know he's that close, they deserve all they're about to get.Not sure about the P-51 bit, but will not quibble, excellent render.

Well if you want to include the Meteor. (smile) But as far as Prop driven aircraft?, The P-51 took out more 262's than any other.

Great picture. Very impressive indeed my good chum! Yep! Americans DID fly Spits. They were called Eagle Squadrans while under UK control. They also flew Mosquitos (which they loved!) As for the record of shooting down Me262's, that goes to Typhoons I'm afraid. THE No1 Ground attack Fighter. BUT, lets not argue. The Germans also shot down a lot of RAF bombers flowing them back in the bomber streams. Same way - as they landed. Tit for tat! Rob.

Interesting pic! The Me 262 would have put out the landing gear much later though.
