Description

For Andrea and Lynell Black Skimmers Closeup - This is the same flock from my previous posting on Naples Beach, Florida. They circled me an landed at my feet. Notice that most are all facing into the wind. Thanks for checking this out and many thanks for your comments. As a newcommer to all of this - all comments help. Dana P

Thankyou for that, Dana! Stunning birds, and what lethal looking beaks they have. A lovely shot, a wonder you weren't blinded by a bill. You can see this close that the bottom part of the beak is longer than the top to do the skimming, most interesting!

Viewed as an abstract with squinted eyes, this could be curling paint. Neat shot!

What a fun shot. They are so patient. Is it that they are bored or very used to waiting for tides to turn and lunch to be brought in? :-) Love it!
