Description

Another shot of the castle ruins in St Andrews, taken at low tide from just below the pier. I managed not to break anything this time, but it was so windy I daren't take any risks and each exposure saw me hugging the tripod tightly to make sure it didn't go swimming.. it was bitingly cold and after a few shots I was pretty much ready to head back to a warm fire... only to find my car buzzer didn't have enough battery to unlock the car and all the keyholes hadn't been used in so long they had corroded/seized themselves locked! Great! An hour later the AA man arrives after a significant drive, and despite having tried it about 300 times before his arrival, as soon as he came the damn thing worked without any warning or assistance... sod's law - prime example ;) 'Fortunately' the car then didn't start so we did need his help after all and I didn't feel like such an asshole.. Anyway, the waiting time gave me chance to go explore around the pier, which was laborious work in the freezing cold in the dark, but some promising results.... that area is calling for me to return on another clear night when I've sorted a new wide-angle lens and cable-release.. star trails beckon ;) Slightly different colour scheme and angle from 'Beacon', which is of essentially the same scene.
