Outstanding composition Mandi. Plenty of lessons to be learned from history, but usually we just love to ignore them.

Haunting. For some reason Lizzie Borden comes to mind when I look at this. Whatever the intention, it's a great design. I love all the faces, expressions, and layers. The colors and structure are effective giving it the look of antique books and illustrations, and it draws me in searching for a story.

I still have no idea how you come up with these ideas! Mandi, your mind is a funny, funny place....don't ever change!

well I see layers of tapestry, stone carving, statuary, bas-relief, many faces, even the letters "ZE" (I think!) in what appears either Byzantine or maybe Celtic style; and eyes that seem like big orbs or even breasts, and all kinds of symbols that could come from ancient cities, and that big fruitfly and even a screaming face...Another of your packed collages, the fly is surrounded by ornament made from warped faces, faces become flora, you have your old historical portraits (not the least of which is the central woman who seems right out of the 19th C.), chains around the woman—which would imply historical oppression of women in general, though she retains a sense of wholeness regardless—and all of it woven in a pageant of walls, tapestries, etc. etc. all in one. One of your richer pieces and another fav—I see you've already gotten several—and nice to see it large too...Would be powerful on the wall of a large open space...
