And vulnerable ... like a caterpillar
The butterfly shows us
The metamorphosis of our spirit
And the miracle of our growth and change
As we mature
And like the butterfly
We are all different
And special in our own way.
Some say
Butterflies are the beautiful souls
Of those who have passed away
Returning to us
On a sunny day.

This image is dedicated to twin-sisters, Nikita and Bella.
They have touched my heart in a way I can't explain.
I don't know either girl, except what I've experienced in their galleries.
I spent a profound night looking at the images, listening to the music, and reading the poems and words of bella_sometimes to her beloved sister, nikita_s_cold.
And reading Niki's answers to Bella. And weeping.
Their story is so heartbreaking ... their love for each other so healing.
Each so special and beautiful, their spirits evolving in a different way
Nikita recently passed away at the tender age of 15.
Her spirit is finally flying free in the heavens.
Bella's spirit is as beautiful, but wounded
Struggling to fly away from the past
Struggling to survive.
I know their love for each other
Is purer and more fierce
Than painful memories.
I know they are wise beyond their years
And stronger than all their tears
And that they are both butterflies.
God be with you, Nikita and Bella, on your flight of the spirit.

I know what you mean Carol... both girls touched me deeply . So young going thorugh things no one should.. but they are so tough inside their fragile little bodies. They kept their hearts in place when everything around them was trying to break their spirit. They are little warriors. One up above.. one down on earth now. Incredible image and dedication to them Carol... Both angels deserve it so much.

Nikita touched my soul last year, this Angel of Light changed me and I still can't think of both Nikita and Bella without crying and praying.. I haven't prayed for many, many years.. Her faith and unconditional Love for God, her sister and all humans is almost not from this world and can only be found in fantasy movies and novels.. You did her beautiful spirit justice here, both with your image as with your words.. She will look down from Heaven and smile watching it.. I will never, never, never forget this Angel and will try to hold me to the promise and question she wrote in her last mail to me; "..see you in Heaven Charley, yes?" ..if I can make it there I hope she will come down fom her High Heaven she must be in now and visit me where ever I might be send..

What you have done here is truly beautiful and inspirational- a very fitting tribute to two wonderful and gifted souls. You really make me feel this piece deeply. You have such a deep heart my friend and I thank you for sharing their story and your tribute to their love for each other. When we saw each other last and you told me some of their heartbreaking story, I was very moved. I just read the beautiful tribute that was written back in January as well as visited their galleries and their story is amazing as well as their profound artistic gifts, and I am with Deane.. where are those tissues? I am in awe...
