Description
Slow, poorly armed, flown by very brave men, carrying even braver people, the Lysander made hundreds of dangerous night flights delivering and collecting members of the French Resistance.
This is my memorial to those wonderful people.

Excellent tribute Warren of such an overlooked aircraft that played a very important role in it's own right. Well done mate.

Yes great little warhorse...did you know that probably the last air battle of world war II was between 2 similar aircraft, a US Piper Cub, and a Feisler Storch. The Cub chased the Stork around a tree while they both shot at each other with pistols!...and the Cub won.

Warren, what is your model of the "Lizzie?" And by who? Love the image of the Piper Cub and Feisler Storch that Penters mentions. Sort like a throwback to WWI.

Really good light source effect. Dont forget that the Lizzie was also an air sea rescue spotter.

Nice render.... ----------------- Actually the Lysander flew around the mediterranean too, connecting the Cairo exiled governments to "fortress Europe" as pics from partisan improvised airstrips show. And the usual colour scheme, used to be 2/3 of the fuselage black. P

nice work on this lovely (to my eyes) plane, designed by Petter, whose career would later include the English Electric Lightning, which was a bit faster...

Brilliant! Lovely to see this much over looked aircraft! There is one airworthy still at The Shuttleworth Collection, Beds, England. It often shows up at the Flying Legends Show. So you never know... Rob.
