She was the eldest, the matriarch of the herd, the longest lived of their kind and so blessed by Equus that from his breath upon her brow sprouted a silver spiral -- a symbol of her purity, her kindness and her love. Particularly of the young, innocent and defenseless of the herd. She was Epona, the Goddess of the horses, and this magic realm was her home. She was guardian and guide to the young of her breed and guide to those who loved her kin and defender against those that would do her children wrong. ~~~~ While not the traditional guise of the Goddess, Epona, I could think of no better name for such a lovely guardian to the next generation of foals as she watches them play in a magical glen. This is for a dear friend, loyal supporter and faithful follower of her own Goddess. Roxy, this is for you, with affection, love and regard. You have inspired many a vision in myself and others that, hopefully, someday, will make themselves known in some form of image.
